How to Change Your Microsoft Password

Password Change Instructions

For RSRs and RSSs

If you are an RSR or RSS, please follow these steps, otherwise look at the other sections:

  1. Locate a Nixon Medical workstation (such as a company laptop or desktop).
    • It is recommended to speak with your Service Manager for assistance.
  2. Log in to the workstation using the following format:
    • Username: firstname.lastname
    • Password: your current email/Microsoft password
  3. Once logged in, follow the same steps listed below in the “Changing Your Password” section.
  4. Sign out by clicking windows logo on the taskbar > right clicking your name > click "sign out"

Note:
If you are a regular computer user, simply log in as you normally would and follow the same instructions below.


Changing Your Password (While connected to Nixon Wifi)

If you are physically at a Nixon location and connected to the Nixon network:

  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del at the same time.
  2. Select Change a Password.
  3. Enter your old password, then your new password.

Changing Your Password (While Remote)

If you are working remotely, first connect to the VPN, then follow these additional steps:

  1. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del at the same time.
  2. Select Change a Password.
  3. Enter your old password, then your new password.
  4. Go back to the Ctrl + Alt + Del menu.
  5. Select Lock.
  6. Unlock the computer using your new password.

 

POLICY

Please ensure your new password meets our security policy: 

One uppercase letter (A-Z)

One lowercase letter (a-z)

One number (0-9)

One special character (e.g., !, @, #, $, etc.)

Does not reference your name or account

Must not be used for any other account outside of work
